Never knowing where I'll be

Coming up next

A trip to Disney and another pictures of the Merry -go -round. Bob and Rebecca started going on these when she was 4 mos old and we have pictures from Disney , San Francisco, Detroit, local amusement parks and shopping malls.  Hopefully we get another one this weekend.

I saw the new word on Birds the Word challenge blog and since I'm trying so darn hard to get a lot of scrapping done while I have some time , this picture seemed to be a good fit for the challenge this week. "You and  Me"

The flowers were dry embossed and the paper is from the stash of maybe someday I'll use this. I can't hardly remember the last time I did a 12 x 12 layout.

 

HMITM Challenge - Johnny Appleseed

It's my week to post the challenge at HMITM this session. I really enjoyed the challenge which is really nice when you think it up. lol

It's Johnny Appleseed day and while nobody else may be excited about it I am. My children are descendants of Johnny Appleseed so we have books, counted cross stitch pictures, etc. about him.



Our challenge this time is going to do a layout using apples in it. So it can be a recipe page, layout about fall or anything that uses apples. Since apples come in three colors I want the colors of the layout to have red, yellow and green in them.

What is there about a certain picture that just makes you miss someone so darn much. Rebecca sent me pictures all day long, 10 different ones of the glasses she was trying on, new haircuts, reports from the doctors office then I got this one. Just a fun picture , new hair , new glasses and I was almost in tears. No reason, she's fine, I'm fine but I don't care how old she gets she's still my baby and I just miss her.

Scrapping the evening away



It was nice I had a lot of projects that I got done yesterday and it left me with a lot of time to get some scrapping done. This of course led me to one of the new (for me) challenge blogs that I think is just wonderful. Check out Scrap It With A Song for some fun ideas.

This is the second challenge I did over there and it's the song Yellow by Coldplay. It's Rebecca's favorite color and when I listened to the song (numerous times) I found the words  in it " Love You So" and I thought it was a great title for the picture she sent me of her and Chris when they were out one evening.

I even got a bird  in the layout again, I have had that rub on for at least 7 years so it's about time I used it.

Fun Place Scrap It With A Song

The best part about is your not required to be able to  sing to do the challenges which I'm sure makes everyone that knows me quite happy.
The challenge for this one was the Song Fix it by Cold Play. I used  picture of Cynthia with my 4th grade teacher for it, she is such a sweetheart to go with me when I visit her and she really enjoys it. It's hard to capture a good picture but even though this wasn't the best one , it's the one with the most heart in it. Mrs  Holm's now is 105 1/2 and proud as can be of it.
The journaling is " In this fast paced world it's good to give to others. You may not fix the fact she can't live by herself anymore but you can make her day a little brighter and fix a short time of being lonely.

I used the paper line from Basic Grey Out Of print and the new  EK Success punch Carnation to make the flower.

September Sketch at Kitchen Keepsakes

It really is true I think this is my 9th sketch for them and I really love creating them.

Share - she needs to !

I thought I taught her better - but we all know that there are times to share and times not to.

This picture is from when Shel and I went out to Columbus with Rebecca to go over things with her before her closing on her place.

The birds the word for this challenge is SHARE and since I'm still working on Rebecca's book I thought this was a good picture to use.

It took me more time to do and redo the strip across the top then it seemed like it took to do the rest of the layout.

HMITM challenge this week

Here's mine:

This challenge was so much fun and since we are in the process of building our new house I had a hard time deciding which photo to use then one of the landscapers dropped off a new set of aerial pictures and it was an easy decision. The colors are based on some of my room colors which I have used greens and blues quite a bit. The birds also tie in with the theme of my art glass in the doors and one of the bathrooms. I used the Cricut cartridge Songbird for the word and the tag and I actually used a pagemaps sketch for the design.

Then I also added this one:

I've been traveling a lot so my layouts are suffering on getting done but the card collection I have is growing - I used this challenge to make a card for my daughter that is doing some work on the inside and outside of her house.

Every single thing in the challenge got into the card- there's a rub-on sun under the button, some of the brads are on the car wheels, the trees are cut from different lines and the tags are under the flower. Fun way to challenge myself.

 

Back again with the second layout from the Birds The Word

I've been working a book with some memories of her grandparents for Rebecca and I just wanted this one to be clean and focus on the two of them. I think this is one of the last pictures I have with my Mom and Rebecca - the two Rebecca's in my life.

The word to use at the The Birds the Word is Memory.
